Westfield –
Westfield Indiana is located just 30 minutes north of Indianapolis. It’s convenient location to US-31 makes for easy interstate access. However it’s far enough away from the Indianapolis that it’s maintained a “small town” feel. This has made Westfield an attractive place to live for thousands of people.
Westfield (http://www.westfield.in.gov/)has a very rich history dating all the way back to 1834 when three Quakers from North Carolina, Ambrose Osborne, Asa Bales, and Nathan Parker, founded Westfield Indiana. It’s believed that the town was founded in order to become a stop on the Underground Railroad for many Quaker and Wesleyan Methodist families who were strong supports of this cause.
Now,
Westfield is the fastest growing community in state of Indiana having increased in population over 36% in the last six years. Its central location to shopping, medical facilities, and golf courses; great mix of affordable homes and new luxury homes, low cost of living, small town feel, business friendly environment, recreational opportunities, and good schools makes Westfield a sought after place to live.
Westfield Washington Schools – This school district is comprised of five elementary schools, one intermediate school for fifth and six grade, one middle school for the seventh and eighth graders, and one high school for the ninth through twelfth graders. Carey Ridge Elementary, Maple Glen Elementary, and Oak Trace Elementary all school pre-kindergarten through fourth graders. Meanwhile Shamrock Springs Elementary and Washington Woods Elementary offer schooling for kindergarten through fourth grade. Total enrollment for the Westfield Washington School district is just over 5,000 students.

Parks and Recreation- The Westfield Parks and Recreation Department is still undergoing rapid growth. With its recent formation, Westfield has developed four parks that offer picnic areas and playgrounds. There are currently two new youth parks in the planning stages as well as two other parks will be undergoing a major remodel. The Natalie Wheeler Trail, Midland Trail, and the Monon Trail all go through Westfield as well.
The Natalie Wheeler Trail was dedicated to a young lady who touched many lives. This trail runs from Union Street in downtown Westfield to Cool Creek Park at 151st Street. People are able to enjoy walking, jogging, bicycling, or roller blading along this trail.
The Midland Trail travels straight through the heart of downtown area adjacent to the Martha Doan Memorial Gardens and then travel eastward along the northern border of the Simon Moon Park. It continues eastward along the southern edge of the Westfield Market Place to our eastern most border at Gray Road.
The Monon Trail is currently undergoing an extension that will take it from 146th Street up to 161st Street.
Events and Attractions – Westfield hosts a variety of events throughout the year that attract people from all over. The NUMA Festival features musical and dance performances, artisan works, a chili cook-off, car show, wonderful food from local restaurants and a special children’s corner consisting of all sorts of activities. This annual cultural celebration takes place each fall.
Golfers can also practice their chip shot at one of the many golf courses in the area. Some of these golf courses include Bent Tree Golf Club and Wood Wind Golf Course.
